FOREVER BE WITH US.

Do you think that the weather will be with us all day?
Or the dew on my eyelids so bold as to stay?
Or the anodyne wind keep the madness at bay?
Or that night will return at the end of the day?

Is it possible someone could breathe in as new,
And completely exhale all the essence of you?
And return what is left of you body in lieu?
And after they’re gone you’ll be no one we knew.

Call it anything else but the onset of love,
All that ever did was affect each of us;
All our hopes of denial were never enough,
All remembered with nails once deserted by love.

Be prepared as the night falls to entertain death,
In the shadows that stay once the sun finds its rest,
In the way that each creature defines its bequest,
In whose post natal evenings we encounter death.

Do you think that the weather will show the next day?
Or your witness be borne by the words that you say?
Or that love will remain once the nights ebbed away?
Or the world will forever be with us today.
