FRIENSHI*.

It’s best that they go,
And that they stay gone,
And you never see them again.
And all you can hope
Is that you’re not wrong,
And you’ll never need them as friends.

And the pictures you took
You’ll again get to take,
But the people once in them will not be.
And you’ll pray when you look
At new memories you make
That it is not the same scenery.

So the places will change,
And the journeys to get there,
And the arrivals will be in the night.
And you’ll try to arrange
Your agenda with care
So as not to see them in the light.

For it is only by day
That you find yourself drawn
To the memories that still linger on.
So sleep through the haze
That arrives with the dawn,
And continue until day is done.

Then get up when night falls,
And awake whom you’re with,
And proceed to get on with the game,
And if anyone calls,
And asks how it is,
You can say it’s exactly the same.
