All we ever needed,
Pure and simple edicts,
Carried by the court we
Seldom ever heeded;
Nothing left to hear.
Everything afforded,
Sanctioned and applauded,
Offered for the love we
Never have rewarded;
Always in the head.
Bolder things conceded,
Started and impeded,
Noticed in the words we
Always have repeated;
Nothing to misread.
Ultimately haunted,
Vacant and disjointed,
Shaken by the time we
Took to be appointed
By the new in bed.
Nothing in the reasons,
Lurid or indecent,
Only accidents we
Endured every season;
Nothing else agreed.
